Jerome Kavanagh

Recently we had a visit from a very talented artist and speaker called 'Jerome Kavanagh'.  He brought along many different musical instruments constructed from materials, found in nature.  He spoke about his respect for the environment.  Some of his instruments are made from bones of beautiful New Zealand animals.  An example of this is The Albatross that lost its life in a sea net, but can carry on making people happy through the beautiful music sound of the bone flute that has been made.  Jerome taught us how to listen carefully to the beautiful music from his flutes and the stories he told (legends).  Jerome Kavanagh is a legend and all of Room 8 very much enjoyed this amazing experience!!  We were lucky enough to make our own musical instrument out of clay.  Inia was the first student to get his clay instrument playing.  Well done Inia!
